Tax Foreclosures Drop By 30 Percent In County

The number of tax foreclosures in Macomb County dropped by nearly one-third last year, continuing a declining trend of both tax and mortgage foreclosures.The number of foreclosures for nonpayment of taxes was 313 last year, a 30-percent drop from the 449 tax foreclosures in 2014 and down from 768 in 2013, a 54 percent dip, according to Macomb County Treasurer Derek Miller.
