Florida needs volunteers. That’s not just an effort at finding helping hands. It’s a serious problem. Results from the 2020 Census revealed that Florida has one of the lowest volunteering rates in the United States — 48th out of 50 states. The number of Floridians who volunteer on a regular basis is currently a paltry 16%, down from 23% in 2017. The Sunshine State’s transient nature was already a hindrance.
