Taiwan Rescuers Battle Raging Rivers, Downpours

Heavy rain, fog, rugged terrain and raging rivers are making it dangerous for rescuers trying to aid victims of Typhoon Morakot in Taiwan. Washed out roads and bridges made ground rescue operations nearly impossible and forced rescuers to use helicopters and inflatable boats. At least 108 people were killed and 62 are reported missing after the storm dumped up to 83 inches of rain on some parts of the island.
