Sweepstakes Operators Plead Guilty

GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) — Federal authorities have broken up a family-run sweepstakes gaming enterprise that prosecutors say serviced more than 600 Internet cafes across the country, raking in proceeds estimated at nearly a quarter billion dollars. Bobby G. Mosley Sr. of Townville, South Carolina, pleaded guilty this week in U.S. District Court to a single count of operating an illegal gambling business.
