WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court on Monday rejected the Trump administration’s highly unusual bid to bypass a federals appeals court and get the justices to intervene in the fate of a program that protects hundreds of thousands of young immigrants from deportation. The decision affecting “Dreamers” means the case will almost certainly have to work its way through the lower courts before any Supreme Court ruling is possible.

There’s a chance that happens, but it’s a longshot, similar to the Dolphins’ playoff hopes. It’s been that type of frustrating season for Tagovailoa, who leads the Dolphins (7-8) into Sunday’s game at Cleveland (3-12) having completed a career-best and league-leading 72.9 percent of his passes this season. Tagovailoa was asked the possibility of establishing that completion percent record earlier this month. “That would mean a lot,” he said, “but I think for us, right now, just trying to keep the main goal, the main goal and to find a win this Sunday and go on a run that we’ve been talking about in that locker room as a team, that would be a little more special than any other record I would say.” That didn’t happen.
