Kansas City isn’t bouncing back as quickly as many cities, but it also wasn’t hit as hard by the recession, says a Brookings Institution study released Tuesday. The study looked at 150 cities — the 50 largest in America, 50 in Europe and 50 elsewhere. They were rated on a combination of employment and income growth (or loss) for three periods that have some overlap: pre-recession (1993-2007), recession (2007-09) and recovery (2009-10).
