Strong Unions Build Strong Communities

Forty years ago, more than 20% of American workers belonged to unions. Today the number is half of that. Only about 6% of workers in the private sector are unionized — down from more than a third in the 1950s, according to the White House. There are many reasons why organized labor has experienced a significant decline in membership since the Second World War.
