The Texas Ranger had hoped to get Doug Fister back before the end of the season, but those hopes were put to bed Monday when the team announced he was done for the season.Fister has been out since early June with an ailing knee. The Rangers held out hope for the knee to rehab, but said Monday that it was not responding as well as possible.Fister went is 1-6 this season with a 4.50 ERA in 12 starts.Meanwhile, Nomar Mazara worked out with the Rangers on Monday.
