On June 17th, 1885, France delivered The Statue of Liberty to America. It was a gift from the French people to the US as a sign of friendship. The sculpture, forged by Frederic-Auguste Bartholdi, is officially titled Liberty Enlightening the World and is widely recognized as a symbol of freedom and democracy.
