A new report suggests that Jason Statham and Tom Hardy will duke it out for the starring role of Snake Plissken in the upcoming Escape from New York remake. According to New York Daily News, Gerard Butler and Jeremy Renner were originally thought to be in the running for the part made famous by Kurt Russell in the 1981 original, but it sounds like plans have changed since Studio Canal took over the project from New Line back in 2011.
