NEW YORK (AP) — Officials on Staten Island are calling for the MTA to beef up its express bus service so it can handle rider influx as bad weather approaches. Borough President James Oddo and Councilman Steven Matteo made the request Wednesday. According to the Staten Island Advance (http://bit.ly/1ETwwqF ), riders who left work early to beat the storm on Monday were left stranded out in the snow as full buses repeatedly drove past them. The MTA has apologized for riders' inconvenience and says it will be reviewing its procedures. ___ Information from: Staten Island Advance, http://www.silive.com
