Our new-look Legislature is poised to pass its first bill this session, a largely symbolic repeal of a law that itself is largely symbolic (HB2001).Repeal of the 2009 Alternative Energy Portfolio Act will join a long list of feel-good bills passed by the Legislature that do little, if anything.Two litmus tests that the bill does little: First, Democrats showed they are poised to make a strong transition from leadership to loyal opposition with calls for jobs and economic impact studies for the legislation.
