Daily Journal STARKVILLE – The Starkville Police Department and Animal Control Officers are collecting items for the flood victims of Louisiana and their animals. The list of items that are needed for people and animal use/rescue include: bleach, paper towels, garbage bags, rubber gloves, bandages, non-perishable items, GermX, soap, batteries, flashlights, towels, pillows, sheets, blankets, clothes, socks, duct tape, tarps, zip ties, box cutters, infant formula, diapers, toddler pull-ups, baby food, adult diapers, toothbrushes, toothpaste, food for all types of animals, food buckets, food bowls, rope for larger livestock, gallon jugs of water. Items can be dropped off at any Starkville Police Department location or the Oktibbeha County Humane Society on Industrial Road. Other drop-off points include Ricks Café on Hwy 182, Spruill Property Management on Louisville Street, Smith Animal Hospital on North Jackson Street, and Oktibbeha County Co-Op on Pollard Road. Officers would like to transport a load to Louisiana this upcoming weekend, so please donate items by Saturday afternoon.
