On Monday, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.. “in addition to our regular patrol officers, we utilized a grant from the Connecticut Department of Transportation to hire a few extra officers to assist,” police posted on their Facebook page. “The officers issued 22 tickets for drivers talking on cell phones, 25 for texting while driving, 10 miscellaneous other motor vehicle infractions and one driver who was caught texting also had no driver's license and a warrant for failure to appear” in court.
