Stamford Man Charged With Strangling, Beating Girlfriend

STAMFORD — A city man faces numerous charges after police say he violated a court order when he strangled and assaulted his girlfriend on New Year’s Day. Brian Gonzalez, 20, of Willowbrook Avenue, has been charged with 68 counts of harassment and violating a protective order along with charges of strangulation, assault, reckless endangerment, criminal mischief, threatening and unlawful restraint.
