Stamford Dems Increase Hold On Board Of Reps

The Board of Representatives election was good to incumbents, with 25 members retaining their spots on the city board out of 30 running for re-election, according to preliminary numbers. For Robert "Gabe" DeLuca, a Republican coming back for another term in the 14th district, along with fellow Republican incumbent Carl Franzetti, the shift comes with concerns. Preliminary election returns showed the new board will only include 13 Republicans, tilting the power further into the Democrat's hands. DeLuca spoke out loud as his finger pointed down a page with preliminary results, noting in a hushed voice where the Republicans lost seats, his words getting lost in the crowd of people milling around Stamford's Italian Center Tuesday evening, where Republican Mayoral candidate Michael Fedele announced his concession to Martin.
