Before any vote is cast in St. Johns County, workers at the local Supervisor of Elections office checked every piece of equipment to make sure every ballot counts — assuming each one is valid and properly filled out. On Tuesday morning at the office just off State Road 16, Supervisor of Elections Vicky Oakes and her staff completed the final test of voting machines before early voting begins Saturday.
