Springlike Weather's Gone; Temperatures Are Tumbling Into 30s

(By Steve Lyttle, slyttle@charlotteobserver.com) Wednesday afternoon's 70-degree weather is just a memory today across the Charlotte metro region, thanks to a 30-degree temperature free fall that has been accompanied by some rain.A cold high pressure system over New England pushed a cold front southward across the Carolinas early Thursday, while a low pressure system over the Mississippi Valley is spreading rain across the Charlotte metro region.
