Steven Spielberg appears to have found his next directorial effort, taking the helm of "The Kidnapping Of Edgardo Mortara" for Amblin Entertainment. Tony Kushner penned this adaptation of Pulitzer Prize-winner David Kertzer's 1997 book which recounts the story of a young Jewish boy in Bologna, Italy in 1858. Having been secretly baptized, he is forcibly taken from his family to be raised as a Christian. The struggle to free him becomes part of a larger political battle that pits the Papacy against forces of democracy and Italian unification.
