South End Tavern's Iconic Signs Remain In Troy

TroyA piece of luck helped the Rensselaer County Historical Society snare two iconic signs from the closed South End Tavern and keep them in their hometown.The "South End Tavern" and "Ladies Entrance" signs probably would have ended up somewhere else — collectors from Albany and Schenectady were interested — if Troy City Historian Kathy Sheehan didn't happen to drive by the tavern at 757 Burden Ave.
