Variety is out there beating a horse that's been dead for a while. Sony Classics is the only studio Dependent that is focused on pick-ups. None of the others were driven by pick-ups in recent years and still pick up their 2 or 3 pictures a year, and get involved in pre-production on 2 or 3 more.
