The network has ordered 10 episodes of the Sons of Anarchy creator's new series, the provocatively titled Bastard Executioner, to premiere this fall, it was announced Friday afternoon. In the show, which is set in the Late Middle Ages (roughly 1300-1500 AD), Aussie actor Lee Jones plays a warrior knight loyal to King Edward I who is wreck after all of his battles and wants to leave the bloodshed behind. Unfortunately, violence finds him again, and he's left with no choice but to pick up "the bloodiest sword of all," presumably to execute a bunch of people.
