It’s a family tradition for the Morrison family that spans four generations. On Monday, firefighters John and Tim Morrison, who are brothers, were promoted to lieutenant in a ceremony held in a packed First United Methodist Church of Akron on East Mill Street. The number of firefighters promoted was exceptionally large as the city has held off on such promotions as legal wrangling over the process snaked its way through the courts. Their father, John Morrison, who served 26 years as a firefighter and retired as a fire captain, proudly pinned badges on both his sons. “My father and grandfather were also firemen,” he said.
