Charlie Blackmon is no longer a Denver homeowner. After retiring from a 14-year career with the Colorado Rockies at the end of the season, the outfielder sold his home in the Belcaro neighborhood for $130,000 under its list price. The $4,170,000 sale of the Belcaro house closed Nov. 21. Blackmon moved back to Georgia to live in Atlanta with his wife, Ashley, and their two young children. He listed the 5,500-square-foot home in the gated community near Cherry Creek on Sept.

The party supply chain told employees in a Friday meeting that it would be their final day working for the New Jersey-based company, according to CNN. “That is without question the most difficult message that I’ve ever had to deliver,” CEO Barry Litwin reportedly said in a video conference call, telling workers they were losing their jobs five days before Christmas and would be cut loose sans severance pay or benefits. Litwin announced in August he was taking over leadership of the struggling company and its more than 700 stores during a “pivotal” period of repositioning for the business. The country’s largest party supply store declared bankruptcy at the start of 2023, which allowed the company to cancel nearly $1 billion in debt, CNN reported.

The Columbus, Ohio-based retailer, which sells furniture, home decor and other items, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in early September and said private equity firm Nexus Capital Management LP had agreed to acquire “substantially all of the company’s assets.” But on Thursday the chain said it didn’t anticipate completing the purchase agreement.
