I mean, when Jenny came to live with him in Alabama (she showed up when he was mowing the lawn with his Snapper), Forrest says she was always tired, and then they fucked. Her tiredness leads me to believe she was already sick when she snuck into Forrest's window and fucked him, giving him HIV.
