A small plane made an emergency landing in unincorporated Boca Raton Saturday morning, officials say. No one was injured. The plane took off from the Naples Airport earlier Saturday morning and was heading to Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport, a spokesperson for the Federal Aviation Administration said in an email. Instead, the plane landed in the 15000 block of Loxahatchee Road, Palm Beach County Fire Rescue said, around 7 miles west of the Boca Raton Airport. Palm Beach County Fire Rescue responded to the scene a little after 11 a.m., but said in an email release that the plane “landed safely” and “there was no further need for Fire Rescue.” There were no injuries, Teri Barbera, a spokesperson for the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, said in an email. It is unclear why the plane made the emergency landing.
