(By Steve Lyttle, slyttle@charlotteobserver.com) The Attorney General's office in South Carolina has asked SLED for a closer look at the operation of Chesterfield County's animal shelter, including allegations that dog fighting took place at the facility.Meanwhile, a group of animal rights activists says it will lobby the Chesterfield County Council next week for major changes in the shelter's operations, perhaps turning it over to a private organization.
