Shots Fired In Downtown Stamford

STAMFORD — Police are investigating after at least four gunshots were fired in the downtown area early Thursday morning. Officers responding to an unrelated incident on West Park Place about 1 a.m. heard four or five shots coming from the Bell Street garage area, Sgt. Simon Blanc said. Officers investigated the area, but they found no bullet holes or shell casings, according to the report. Blanc said police stopped one suspicious vehicle coming out of the Bell Street garage, but the occupants were released after questioning. Stamford Hospital did not have any gunshot victims that night, police said. noliveira@hearstmediact.com
