Amarillo Animal Management & Welfare reported Wednesday they have accepted 51 animals since Oct. 3, all surrendered from the same Potter County resident. The arrival of so many new animals has significantly added to the shelter’s population, continuing their high intake level as well as highlighting their recently updated euthanasia policy. Richard Havens, AAM&W director, said the unidentified owner originally surrendered 11 animals in early October, but on Tuesday added three dozen dogs, a horse and a donkey. read more
