Several Digging Protocol Violations Caused March Gas Outage In Colorado Springs

By ryan maye handy ryanmaye.handy@gazette.com -A contractor violated several digging protocols last month, breaking a pipe that triggered a massive natural gas outage in northeast Colorado Springs, a spokesman for Colorado Springs Utilities said Monday. On March 11, a construction crew hit and broke a major gas pipeline near Old Ranch Road and Powers Boulevard while working on a road project.
