A newly hired physical education teacher at East Detroit High School testified that Thursday morning that he was in the pool area where a student was drowning but didn't see the youth so he ran for help.James Reed, who had been hired only nine days before KeAir Swift drowned, took the stand in 38th District Court in Eastpointe this morning in the case of Johnathan Sails, a substitute teacher who is charged with involuntary manslaughter for his alleged lack of action in Swift's death.
