Second Suspect Accused Of Cooking Meth Under Iowa City Bridge

IOWA CITY — A second homeless man has been accused of cooking meth under an Iowa City railroad bridge.According to a criminal complaint, on June 21, 50-year-old Steve M. Leffers was found under a railroad bridge in the 2500 block of South Gilbert Street with two others. Police said the subjects were found with a one pot-style meth lab.The evidence collected at the scene was sent to the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, which confirmed the items were part of a meth lab, according to the complaint.All three subjects admitted to being aware meth was being manufactured.
