Jorge Tenreiro has been appointed as the chief litigation counsel for the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). This expands on his previous role as the acting head of the crypto and cyber security oversight division, with the attorney adding the job to his LinkedIn profile. On the social networking platform, it states Tenreiro started the position in December of 2024, with his time as the previous ‘Deputy Chief Crypto Assets & Cyber Unit’ ending in November. Interestingly, this promotion comes just weeks ahead of Donald Trump entering into office for the second time.
