Sebelius Calls For Updated Vaccine-making Process

The Health and Human Services secretary says the U.S. is too dependent on foreign countries for production of vaccines, as shown by delays in the release of H1N1 flu shots. Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius told Congress today that delays in the release of H1N1 flu shots show that the United States is too dependent on other countries for the manufacture of vaccines and that the technology to make them must be improved.
