Gov. Rick Scott appointed retired Florida Air National Guard Lt. Col. William “Buck” Burney as interim Clay County commissioner on Tuesday filling in for Commissioner Gavin Rollins, who is being deployed overseas with his national guard unit in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Scott said Burney’s appointment begins April 7 and will conclude when Rollins completes his military leave. read more
