Two Sacramento gun-control ordinances probably won't be affected by today's U.S. Supreme Court ruling that strikes down a Chicago gun ban, one local constitutional law expert said. The court's 5-4 decision today in the case of McDonald v. Chicago casts many state and local gun laws into question. However, one Sacramento law expert said he does not expect today's ruling to imperil all local gun regulation. Brian Landsberg, professor of constitutional law at McGeorge School of Law, today said he believes the issue will continue to evolve. "I think that it simply sends the case back to lower court," said Landsberg.
