Black Forest Fire and Rescue workers will be running in their wildland firefighting uniforms Friday - but not toward a fire. BFFR is sponsoring 4 Miles in the Forest, a run to raise money for firefighting equipment. The run will begin at 6 p.m. from the Black Forest Section 16 trailhead parking lot on Burgess Road, between Herring and Vollmer roads. Participants may run or hike, and BFFR spokesman Gary Watson said the trail is not so difficult that it should deter anyone from participating. "It's not entirely flat.
