After rumors of a Verizon Communications takeover of Charter Communications revved up anew Thursday in the Wall Street Journal, Stamford is again left wondering whether it may lose a major corporate headquarters it only recently snagged. With Verizon’s stock trading at nearly $49.50 Friday afternoon, the company had a market capitalization of about $200 billion, more than double the value of Charter, whose shares traded at about $326.
