The Broncos placed running back Tyler Badie on injured reserve Saturday, according to the league’s transaction wire.
Badie, 25, injured his back Sunday against the New York Jets and did not practice at all this week. He will miss a minimum of four games but sources have told The Denver Post over the past week that the hope is he can return to the field later this season.
The Midshipmen waited a long time for this. They made sure to leave no doubt.
Riding the arm and legs of talented junior quarterback Blake Horvath, Navy ended a four-game losing streak to Air Force with a 34-7 victory in front of a packed Falcon Stadium on Saturday.
Horvath piled up 249 yards of offense, completing 9 of 15 passes for 134 and running 18 times for 115 and two scores, to lead a resurgent Navy program past the rebuilding Falcons (1-4).
Junior split back Eli Heidenreich was nearly as brilliant as his QB, hitting the 100-yard mark rushing (100) and receiving (101) on 11 touches for the Midshipmen, who are now averaging 43.6 points per game this season.
Those Broncos were Raiders of a Lost Art.
It is hard to believe, but there was a time when Denver treated the Raiders like a homecoming opponent. It began in 1995 when Mike Shanahan took over as the Broncos head coach. Stiffed $200,000 in severance pay by owner Al Davis, Shanahan did things to the Raiders you wouldn’t wish on your worst enemy.
In his first game, the Broncos blitzed the Raiders 27-0.

Hey, the wanna-be scouts on the Grading The Week staff are unanimous on this one: Travis Hunter walks into the Broncos’ starting 11. Right now. And by “starting 11,” we mean both of them. Offense. Defense. Whatever he wants.
Hunter wants to stay in Colorado, apparently. Or at least that’s what the Buffs’ two-way star and Heisman Trophy contender told the “Kickin’ It With Dee” podcast a few days back.
“I wish I could go to the Broncos just to stay in Colorado because so (many) people just welcome us with open arms,” said Hunter, whose 4-1 Buffs come off this weekend’s bye with a massive, prime-time Big 12 showdown against Kansas State on Oct.
