Wearing an iridescent jacket, Jean-Yves Thibaudet tackled Gershwin’s jazzy tunes and piano runs with a sparkling touch, and seemed to be having fun doing it. Thibaudet’s thrilling performance of Gershwin’s Concerto in F Major was one of the highlights of a crowd-pleasing, all-American program with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra on Friday morning. The lighthearted concert, led by guest conductor Cristian Măcelaru, was also a tribute to the Leonard Bernstein Centennial.
