STAMFORD — A Norwalk man who pleaded guilty to ripping off retirees with worthless home improvement scams avoided being sentenced to jail at the Stamford courthouse Monday after paying nearly $50,000 in restitution to his elderly victims. Angelo Bimbo of Ponus Avenue narrowly dodged a jail sentence after pleading guilty to felony counts of first and second-degree larceny and paid $47,300 in restitution to his elderly victims in Stamford and Norwalk.
