The Republican-dominated coalition that runs the Washington State Senate now has a 26-23 majority, with Republican State Rep. Jan Angel winning a special Senate election in the 26th District. She defeated Democratic State Sen. Nathan Schlicher, who was appointed to fill the seat vacated by U.S. Rep. Derek Kilmer, D-Wash.
