A longtime investigative reporter is asking a federal court in Washington to unseal the largely secret habeas corpus case filed by Abu Zubaydah, a Saudi national U.S. officials believe was a key Al Qaeda leader in the lead-up to the Sept. 11 attacks.Lawyers for former New York Times foreign correspondent Raymond Bonner filed an expansive legal pleading Monday demanding the public release of a variety of motions, responses and court orders relating to the case Zubaydah filed in 2008 challenging the legality of his detention."The public record contains no findings of fact or other explanation for the wholesale sealing of records from public view," the new motion says.
