Colleges and universities that are forced to allow guns on campus should not assume students with concealed carry permits are actually trained in how to use the weapons, a report released Tuesday warns. A new report from NASPA - Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education examines the trend of conservative lawmakers advocating for more guns on college campuses in recent years, as school shootings have spiked. The report, co-authored with the Education Commission of the States, lays out some of the challenges with allowing firearms at universities. It examines a steady "momentum" of conservative lawmakers' efforts in state legislatures to require colleges to allow firearms on their premises.
