NEW HAVEN >> The New Haven area has some of the worst roads in the country and it costs drivers hundreds of dollars every year, according to a report released Thursday morning. The report, put out by a Washington-based transportation group called TRIP, says 45 percent of New Haven area roads have pavement that is in poor condition, the 18th-highest proportion among the nation's major urban areas.
