The 66-year-old, who currently serves as Sacred Heart University’s athletics director, has engaged in “preliminary discussions” with President-elect Donald Trump’s transition team regarding the position. In his playing 10-year playing career, Valentine was a journeyman outfielder, playing for the Dodgers, the California Angels, San Diego Padres, New York Mets and Seattle Mariners. Trump noted that McMahon, who lives in Greenwich and twice lost high-profile races for a U.S Senate seat, “has a tremendous background and is widely recognized as one of the country’s top female executives advising businesses around the globe.”
