Rep.-elect Lauren Underwood, D-Naperville, of the 14th District, appeared on NBC’s “Meet the Press” Sunday and discussed her election win before heading to Congress. “The president is certainly a factor,” Underwood said. “But in the Illinois 14th District, we had not been well-represented.” Underwood argued that outgoing Rep. Randy Hultgren voted for repealing the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, better known as “Obamacare,” and did not act on escalating gun violence.
