Remembering Gay Rights Pioneer Edith Windsor

Edith Windsor is being remembered for paving the way for the legalization of same sex marriage. She died Tuesday in New York at 88 years old. In a landmark Supreme Court case, Windsor challenged the constitutionality of the Defense of Marriage Act, which blocked married gay and lesbian couples from receiving the same federal benefits as heterosexual couples.
