During a search of the car, a single bullet belonging to an assault rifle was found along with joint and a small amount of marijuana. With their interest piqued by the assault rifle round, officers on the scene called in an explosives smelling dog and found a bullet for different type of assault rifle along with two more 9 millimeter bullets for a semiautomatic pistol. Medina was charged with carrying a pistol without a permit, stealing a firearm, possession of narcotics, possession of marijuana, sale of certain illegal drugs, operating a drug factory and possession of a controlled substance within 1,500 feet of a public housing complex.
