By Brandon Shields Special to the Journal PEARL – Baseball has had some odd endings. There was one on Tuesday at Trustmark Park. Jason Barber, who’s a pitcher, scored on a wild pitch to lift Ole Miss past No. 17-ranked Southern Miss 6-5 in 12 innings. The two teams will meet in a mid-week series next week in Hattiesburg. With all his position players having been used, Ole Miss coach had to use a pitcher in the DH spot and chose Barber. With two outs Barber was hit by a pitch in the shoulder.
